Sharia4Belgium: Fouad Belkacem’s 12-year prison sentence confirmed

The Antwerp Court of Appeal has acknowledged Sharia4Belgium as a terrorist group. Fouad Belkacem, the undisputed founder and leader of the movement, was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros.

The court thus confirmed the sentence handed down by the court of first instance last year. Houssein E. and Said M. - two other group leaders - have received the same sentences. Mohamed Y. was sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of €15,000 for participation in terrorist group activities.

The court was also confiming first instance sentences in the latter three cases.

Fouad Belkacem, like the other three defendants, was not present during the judgement.
