Additional security measures owing to threat by Anonymous.

Additional security measures were put in place on Friday by the Brussels Criminal Court.
It is due to give its verdict relating to 12 members and two not-for-profit associations of the Church of Scientology. The hackers' collective, known as Anonymous, launched a call to interrupt the hearing, the news agency Belga has learned from corroborative sources.

During the trial, which began in October 2015 and was completed in December, defence lawyers had received death threats.

The tension seems to have gone up a notch as the court's decision approaches. The collective known as Anonymous, which was denied its right to demonstrate on Friday, put out a web appeal to interrupt the trial.

Both the police and security services at the Palais de Justice de Bruxelles (the Brussels Law Courts) were informed of the threat and took additional steps.
