Salah Abdeslam was placed under arrest by the investigating judge early on Saturday afternoon, according to his lawyer Sven Mary. The main suspect in the Paris attacks will appear in front of the investigating judge again after 3pm. This is due to the European warrant obtained by France. Mr Mary has already said that Salah Abdeslam will fight his extradition to France.
“My client is cooperating with the Belgian justice department, and has admitted being in Paris on the 13th of November”, says Sven Mary. He said his client’s physical condition was that of someone who had been shot in the leg.
Placed under arrest, Salah Abdeslam will appear in front of the Council Chamber within five days.
