Two people seriously injured during a fight in the Guillemins neighbourhood in Liège

Two Tunisians who are living in Belgium illegally were stabbed in rue Paradis in Liège at around 12:00am on Friday, the Prosecutor’s office revealed on Saturday.
The two men were having an alcohol-fuelled party in an apartment building they had been squatting in for several months. One of them, Mehdi, became angry (it is not known why) and threw the bottles of alcohol on the floor. Hamri, another Tunisian, tried to get him to stop. Mehdi then stabbed him in the neck. Hamri ran out onto the street to try and find help but Mehdi followed him and tried to stab him again.

When the police got there, the two men were lying on the ground. One had a wound to their neck, the other a wound to their back. Officers saw a third person running away, but weren’t able to catch-up with HIM. That third person may have become involved in the fight as well.

Two knives, a kitchen knife and a pocket knife, were found a few metres away from the men. An Instruction judge is dealing with the case as a double attempted murder.
