Teenage girl disappears in Uccle - council chamber extends detention of her sister and companion

The council chamber extended on Monday the pre-trial detention of Yousra (24), one of the sisters of Firdaous Bouhaltite Soulaimane (14), who disappeared in Uccle on 24 May, and her companion, aged 22. Yousra and the latter were placed under arrest warrants in connection with a terrorist case, the Brussels prosecutor said on Tuesday.

The investigation into the disappearance of Firdaous continues. There has been no sign of the girl since May 24 and radicalisation is actively being considered as a possibility. There is no indication that she visited Syria at this stage of the investigation.

Her sister, Yousra, a "returnee", fought in Syria before returning to Belgian territory six months ago.
