The Antwerp enforcement court refused to grant limited detention to Fouad Belkacem, the founder of Sharia4Belgium, on Friday. He will not be able to leave the prison in Hasselt during the day, e.g. to look for work or to look after his three children.
Belkacem has been incarcerated for four years. He was repeatedly convicted and sentenced to prison until 2027 and was heavily punished in January 2016 for his 12-year leadership of the terrorist organisation, Sharia4Belgium.
