Pascale Peraïta will refuse to answer questions from the Commission of Inquiry

The former president of the CPAS in Brussels, Pascale Peraïta, will refuse to answer the questions of the commission of inquiry into the functioning of Samusocial, reported the RTBF on its website on Monday. Mrs Peraïta's lawyer informed the members of the commission by letter. "In accordance with Belgian and supranational legal standards on the right to silence and while fully respecting the secrecy of instruction, my client, on my advice, has already decided not to answer any questions by Commissioners, thus deciding to reserve all his statements for the judicial authorities", said Quentin Wauters. "In so doing, the summons of my client does not appear to be indispensable to the progress of your work."

Pascale Peraïta, ex-president of the CPAS in Brussels, was the Executive Director of Samusocial, the ASBL which offers emergency assistance to the homeless. It is being called into question for the management of the ASBL and the granting of high attendance fees to its directors.
