Montasser AIDe’emeh will ask for a pardon

The self-proclaimed jihadist expert Montasser AIDe’emeh plans to ask the King for a pardon. He was convicted of forgery, the Persgroep newspapers reported on Saturday. Montasser AIDe’emeh thinks the “authorities abandoned him” when he received death threats from extremists.

Montasser AIDe’emeh was sentenced to six months in prison last week. He forged a certificate saying Jawad O., 28, had undergone a deradicalisation course.

Montasser AIDe’emeh says he has received death threats since his conviction. “It’s unbelievable that I have been convicted after I risked my life to protect society”, he told De Morgen and Het Laatste Nieuws.
