The bodies of a mother and daughter were found in a house in rue Paul Janson in Herstal at around 3 pm on Saturday, the Liège Prosecutor’s office said. According to information obtained by the Sudpresse group, the ex-husband of the younger victim, aged 33, went to the house to pick up their child. He became worried when no-one answered and called the police. The victim had remarried and had another very young child with her second husband.
Local Herstal police found the young woman’s body along with that of her mother, aged 55. They had both been stabbed and had their throats cut, the Prosecutor’s office has said. The magistrate on duty and Instruction judge assigned to the case visited the scene. An investigation has been opened and the Liège Prosecutor’s office and Herstal police say they are still looking for a suspect.
