Male suspect of terrorism in Italy spent months in Belgium

Tunisian Bilel Tebini (30) will be tried shortly before the Turin Court of Assizes in Italy for his alleged adherence to an Islamic State Group’s terrorist cell. Before being deprived of his liberty, the man seems to have lived in Belgium, according to information published by Het Laatste Nieuws on Monday.

The Italian mandate for the man’s arrest dates from November 2017, but it took months for the suspect to be apprehended. He then resided in Belgium, according to data collected on his Facebook account. The man went on posting pictures under a pseudonym, suggesting that he found refuge in Boussu, and traveled to Mons and Liège.

He was in Belgium at least until April 2018, before he was captured two months later in Austria.
