Cardinal Godfried Danneels pressured in favour of the election of the Argentinian Jorge Bergoglio as the new Pope, along with four of his counterparts. This is mentioned in the recently published biography on the head of the Catholic Church, which Het Nieuwsblad, Gazet van Antwerpen, and Het Berlang van Limburg mentioned on Tuesday. According to certain experts, that would mean the election of Pope Francis was invalid, as “buying votes is forbidden”.
