Juncker does not want "extra delay" in talks on Brexit

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker "hopes" that the European Union will not have to face "further delays" in the Brexit discussions.

Mr Juncker expressed this sentiment because of the results of the British legislative elections, which saw the Conservatives lose their absolute majority in Parliament. "I hope that we will not be confronted with any further delay in the conclusion of these negotiations", he said on Friday in Prague on the sidelines of a European ministerial conference on the future of the security and defence of the EU. "We can begin these talks tomorrow at 09:30", he added.
