“It’s the end of a good week for the country” (PM Charles Michel)

The fact that the PS had been relegated to the opposition in Wallonia is “a sign of hope for the future of the country”, in the eyes of Prime Minister Charles Michel (MR). He spoke to Le Soir and the Sudpresse papers on Saturday.

“I think there will be closer and more stable collaboration between the Walloon and federal governments”, the Prime Minister said. His party has just been voted into the Walloon government.

It makes him “optimistic” but not “euphoric”. “I know there is still work to do, as the economic strategy has been heading in a certain direction for several decades. We can’t reverse it in just a few months”.

The Prime Minister thinks it is the end of a good week for the country: “we at the federal government have been talking about bringing in a series of extra socio-economic measures. We want a Walloon government that will act to reinforce the economic strategy we will implement at federal level”.
