SP.A launched Sunday an “SOS Klimaat’’ petition (SOS Climate) including three demands, among which the immediate closure of the nuclear reactor Doel 1. “We definitely opt for renewable and climate-friendly energy sources. We are immediately closing the nuclear plant Doel 1. Nuclear plants are not only dangerous, but they also slow down the transition towards renewable energy sources,” argues the petition.
Flemish socialists also request massive investment in public transportation, car-sharing and electric bicycles, in order to decrease CO2 emissions and to improve the air quality.
Lastly, the Flemish socialist party wants healthy, sustainable and locally produced meals, respecting animals, environment and farmers, in crèches, schools and nursing homes.
