Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliantie (N-VA) leader Bart De Wever has invited Vlaams Belang to a third meeting with a view to forming the next government of Flanders, it was reported on Wednesday.
The date of the meeting was not immediately available.
The Antwerp mayor has already had two rounds of talks with the parties represented in the Flemish parliament, except for the Belgian labour party, PTB, which was sidelined after the first round.
N-VA and Vlaams Belang do not have enough seats in parliament to form a regional government with a legislative majority, but so far no other Flemish party has shown any willingness to break the cordon sanitaire preventing the extreme-right group from becoming a ruling party.
