Second crowd funding expo at Les Halles de Schaerbeek from October 3rd to the 5th

On Wednesday, Les Halles de Schaerbeek, and Europe's leading crowd funding group KissKissBankBank presented the second edition of the participatory Europe Refresh funding expo.

It will be held from Friday, October 3rd to Sunday October 5th at Les Halles de Schaerbeek, and for the first time this year at Carreau du Temple in Paris from October 11th to the 12th. Europe Refresh willselect forty projects dedicated to creativity. The projects will be based on design, media, art, science, technology or food. The designers will also have the opportunity to present their work.

Workshops and debates will also be offered. On Saturday, activities will begin at 11:30 am with the theme "New modes of financing culture: an extension or a waiver?” A second discussion will focus on the economic importance of the sector and the contemporary notion of "creative and cultural industries." The day will end with meetings with professionals on the concept of web design. On Sunday the discussion will focus on sustainable nutrition.

In the first edition, after a maximum period of 90 days, no less than 15 of the 47 projects from 9 European countries achieved their goals and raised over 412,000 euros. The proposed construction of the underwater exploration vessel, Sea Orbiter, raised the largest amount with 344,650 euros, and mobilized the largest number of donors, 664.
