On Tuesday, the Union of the Middle Class (UCM) presented the program of the 2014 Job Expo. The Job Expo, which is largest job fair in Walloon Brabant, will be held on Oct. 21st at the Axisparc of Mont-Saint-Guibert. Forty recruiters will be present including Essenscia Wallonia, which represents and promotes the chemical and life sciences industry in Wallonia and who compiled the jobs available in the industry. The pharmaceutical sector will also be well represented, including GSK and Baxter, two large well established companies in Walloon Brabant. Workshops, conferences and 10 stands dedicated to entrepreneurship will complement the “recruiter’s space” where 40 companies, a quarter more than in the 2013 edition, will demonstrate how the job market is changing and that opportunities are available: the average annual growth rate in the number of commercial enterprises in Walloon Brabant, from 1999 to 2013 was 5.74% against 3.68%.
The AAU, which organizes the show as part of a management agreement with the province of Walloon Brabant, said that the “new province” includes a number of companies in the service sector and high-tech industry. Jobs 2014, which is actively supported by the Forem, placed the area of chemical and pharmaceutical industry at the heart of this edition.
