The number of Belgians that are struggling to repay one or several credits reached a new record high of 352,270 at the end of February. This makes a total of 3.13 billion euros paid back late, according to the latest figures from the Central Bank’s (BNB) Centre for individual credits. These figures were relayed by the Het Nieuwsblad op Zontag. This is an increase of 2.5% for a year. However, the number of current credits went down by nearly 0.5% over the same period.
The increase concerns both mortgages and loans.
