Belgium has ranked ninth in this year’s Global Retail E-Commerce Index presented by A.T. Kearney. The index ranks countries according to certain variables such as current market size and the potential for growth of online business. Belgium, ranked 24th in 2014, shows the the most impressive growth. The top three are the US, China and the UK, followed by Japan and Germany.
The index shows that e-commerce continued to grow globally in 2014, global turnover amounting to over $800 billion.
The US took advantage of the favorable economic situation in North America to dethrone leading China.
