The Peugeot-Citroën Benelux management (BSA) and the Communal Front union reached a protocol agreement on Monday regarding the company’s social plan, a union source has said. “Peace finally reigns. It’s a good social plan that we will try and sell to the employees. A worker’s assembly will be held on Tuesday at 11am”, Setca’s Pascal Strube explained after the meeting with the management.
The social plan’s conditions have not yet been sorted out. However, workers who meet the conditions for the unemployment regime with a company top-up (RCC, ex-pre-pension) will be able to choose between this regime and the social plan. Although 96 jobs out of 230 were under threat, it was reduced to 68.
On Thursday, the unions criticised the management for “forcing their way in” to end the information phase of the collective sacking procedure. The worker’s reaction has appeared to help both parties get on the same wavelength and helped them reach an agreement.
