Walloon wine growers aim for a million bottles a year

Walloon wine growers produced a total of 520,000 bottles in 2014, 112,183 of which were from big names. Pierre Rion, President of the Walloon Winemakers Association (AVW), told l’Echo that 2015 will be a good year for growth, and said Walloon vineyards will be making a million bottles a year in 3 years’ time.  “Wine production’s contribution to the Walloon economy is still relatively modest, but we will soon hit a million bottles a year, I reckon in about three years’ time. 2015 should be good for growth, with new producers like Château de Bioul Liège emerging”, says Pierre Rion.
