40% of Belgian businesses were victims of cybercrime last year, according to the 1st “European 2015 Cyber Risk Survey Report” published by the daily La Libre Belgique on Thursday. “The survey shows quite clearly that 38% of businesses in Belgium report instances of ‘hacking’ in 2014,” explains Anne-Sophie Coppens, financial & professional risks advisor at the firm Marsh.
Risk managers are aware of the trend but most admit they know very little about defence mechanisms.
