Jet Airways: 650,000 fewer passengers at Brussels Airport

The Indian airline Jet Airways has decided to leave Brussels Airport, which will therefore lose 650,000 passengers per year. This will affect several hundred jobs – direct and indirect – announced the national airport on Monday.

Brussels Airport and their partners are currently examining the possibility of resuming flights that used to be provided by the Indian company in the direction of India and North America. In this context, Brussels Airlines and other Star Alliance companies – including Air India and United Airlines – would be given priority.

The move of Jet Airways to Schiphol next March reflects “the strong competition between European airports”, said a Brussels Airport spokesman.
