Lufthansa ground staff to receive 6%-pay rise

Ground staff at the German airline Lufthansa, the mother company for Brussels Airlines, will see their salaries increase by up to 6% over the next few years, under a collective agreement between the airline’s management and the Verdi trade union. The agreement, reached at the end of long negotiations, covers some 30,000 workers. It includes a 3%-pay increase retroactive to the 1st of February.  A second increase linked to the company’s economic performance is to be awarded on the 1st of May 2019. If the economic results are good, this second pay rise will also amount to 3%; otherwise it will be limited to 1.8%.

The collective agreement runs until September 2020.
