Blockade at InBev depots - end of the strike at AB Inbev

The strike movement that had paralysed the AB Inbev depots since Thursday morning has ended. The management and unions have reached an agreement, ACV Union representative Kris Vanautgaerden revealed on Friday. All the depots will reopen on Monday morning.

“The blockade has been lifted and the employees have returned to work”, Kris Vanautgaerden said.

The agreement includes prolonging an existing convention. Neither management nor the unions will say any more at the moment, as they want to keep the content of the agreement under wraps until employees are informed on Monday morning.

The conflict at AB Inbev is linked to compensation for staff affected by the recent reorganisation, which was designed to modernise the brewery and make its depot network more flexible.

Unions were calling for higher pay to cover the extra travel costs and a motivation bonus.
