Air Belgium maiden flight to Hong Kong set for 30 April

Air Belgium will make its first direct flight to Hong Kong on 30 April, the new Belgian airline announced on Monday. Ticket sales begin on Tuesday with a base tariff of 449 euro for a return flight. Four flights per week will be made to the Chinese city in the first phase. Other Chinese destinations should follow in summer,

Flights to Hong Kong will leave Charleroi Airport at around 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and arrive in Hongkong the following morning at 7.30 a.m. local time.

Return flights will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, leaving Hong Kong around mid-morning and arriving at Brussels South Charleroi at 6.15 p.m., the new carrier, based at Mont-Saint-Guibert, announced.

Tickets can be reserved from 4 April at the www.airbelgium.com Internet site and will be available in the next few weeks through the travel agencies’ GDS (Global Reservation System).

Air Belgium will offer three classes: economy, premium and business, priced respectively at 449, 999 and 1,799 euro. The crews will speak French, Dutch, English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
