Charleroi Airport, BSCA, announced on Monday that it registered 584,880 passengers in March, 8% more than in March 2017, while plane occupancy rates went up to about 87%. “In March 2018, as in the first quarter, Italy placed first among the most attractive destination countries from and to Brussels South Charleroi Airport, followed by Spain, France and Morocco,” BSCA stated. “Romania completed the list of top five countries.”

During the first quarter, 1.624.206 passengers set foot on the BSCA tarmac, a 7% increase compared to the first three months of 2017.

The country’s second airport is entering a new era, that of long-haul flights, with the launch on the 30th of April of a link between Charleroi and Hong Kong, operated by Air Belgium.
