Nearly 11,000 retailers participate in "Customer's week"

Nearly 11,000 retailers will take part in the second “Customer’s weekend” this Saturday and Sunday (6 and 7 October). These retailers are from all over Belgium, including 4,800 from Wallonia and Brussels. Organised by UCM, Unizo and Coméos, the event has grouped together “Customer Day” and “Sunday shopping”. There will be small presents up for grabs and events going on everywhere, but Wavre and Ghent in particular will pull out all the stops as they are the weekend’s flagship cities.

“The event helps retailers thank their customers and gives them 2 days of fun shopping in a friendly and convivial atmosphere”, the Federations said in a joint statement on Friday. The goal is to highlight retail trade.

In Wavre, more than 170 stores will be open and there will be plenty going on in the city, including a circus school for children, stilt-walkers etc...

Customers will be able to win prizes such as a safari in Kenya for 2, a year’s free shopping for their pet or a bouquet of flowers every month for a year through the event’s various partners. Those with Sodexo, Edenred and Monizze cards will also be in with a chance of winning an electric bike.

Retailers will receive gifts too, as Wordline and Bancontact Paycoinq Company will give them free contactless payment for their customers. Last but not least, one trader will be named “Digital pioneer” by Base Business and receive a 1,500-euro investment.
