Brussels Airport expects no less than 232,000 passengers, of which 131,000 will depart during the coming weekend. In addition to the airport staff, travelers will also be able to count on the help of BRUce Pepper, a humanoid robot that can direct passengers to the terminal.
BRUce Pepper can indeed read the boarding pass and inform passengers of their boarding gate. He can also tell the weather in real time, find out where the closest toilets are or provide a variety of tips and practical information about shops and restaurants.
At the check-in of hand luggage, special queues will be opened all summer for families with children. The speed of these queues is adjusted for families and staff can provide extra help for strollers and baby food.
Brussels Airport will also follow the spirit of the many musical festivals this summer. A temporary terrace was installed in front of the departure hall to put passengers in the mood. During the two combined weekends of Tomorrowland, nearly 15,000 festival passengers are expected to pass through the airport.
