Transatlantic Trade Treaty – The Walloon Parliament confirms it opposition to the CETA

The Walloon Parliament confirmed its opposition to the Trade Treaty between the EU and Canada (CETA) on Friday.

After a debate that lasted a little more than two hours, Walloon MPs approved a bill asking the Walloon government not to delegate its power over signing the Treaty to the Federal authorities.

The bill was approved 46 Yeses, (PS, cdH, Ecolo and PTB), 16 Nos (MR) and one abstention from Independent MP Pierre-André Puget.

The Walloon-Brussels Federation Parliament approved a similar bill on Wednesday.
