The European institutions open their doors to the general public 4 May

The general public will be able to explore the inside of the various European institutions on Saturday 4 May, as part of the 27th ‘EU Open Day’. Visitors will be able to stroll around the various buildings and discover the places where decisions are made that impact EU citizens on a daily basis.

The European Parliament, the European Commission meeting rooms, the new Europa building - the seat of the European Council and Council of the European Union - as well as other buildings that serve as meeting places for ministers and at European summits, will all be open all day, from 10 am.

This year’s "Open Day” takes place only three weeks prior to the 9th European elections held on 23 May to 26 May. The elections are held every five years, and are the second largest parliamentary elections in the world.
