Boxing – Jean-Pierre Habimana knocks Anthony Polizzi out in the 7th round

Jean-Pierre Habimana beat Anthony Polizzi, 34, in the 7th of 8 rounds in the ring at the Gilly Sports centre. He beat him by KO. They were fighting for the title of Featherweight champion (less than 66.678kg) of the French-speaking Boxing league. A title that would allow them to fight for the national title in the category.

34-year-old Polizzi had already been beaten by Brice Bula Galo from Louvière, at Enghien on the 13th of February. Polizzi’s brother Alex is his manager. His track record so far is 2 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws.

Habimana, from Brussels (agent Mauro Bufi), will be 33 on Tuesday. He has so far notched up 4 wins, 7 defeats on points and 3 draws since he started professionally in 2013. He last fought Meriton Karaxha in Antwerp on the 23rd November 2014, for the Dutch-speaking League title. He was beaten on points.
