Belgians abroad – Divock Origi named the Red’s player of the month for April

Divock Origi was named ‘player of the month’ for April by his club Liverpool with 43% of the votes, the Reds announced on Saturday.
“I am very proud of this nomination” said Origi. “I’ve had a good month, and I scored some important goals. It’s just a shame I was injured. I hope to return to the game soon to score for my club again. I think it’s an honour to be in attack for a club like Liverpool”.

The 21 year old player is recovering from an ankle injury, which he got during a Derby match against Everton at the end of April. The opponent’s defender Ramiro Funes Mori tackled him, a foul he got a red card for.

Liverpool hopes to see their attacker back on the pitch for the Europa League final on the 19th of May. The match, against FC Séville, will take place in Bâle, Switzerland.

Origi will then concentrate on the Euro, after being selected by Marc Wilmots. He had the best days of his season at the start of April, just before his injury. He scored two goals in the quarter final of the Europa League, as well as important goals in the Premier League.
