Marc Wilmots’ Red Devils are improving during Euro 2016. “The players are not only improving individually, but are progressing as a team”, he stated. He spoke the day before Sunday’s match against Hungary in Toulouse.
“For example, Kevin De Bruyne played at an average level against Italy, but has improved during the tournament. His form has improved: he is laughing and enjoying playing again. You can see he is having fun, and better performances will follow”, the trainer said.
Wilmots also praised Axel Witsel: “Axel played in front of the defence for two years, he made a sacrifice for the team. I know he can play in another position. Axel is a player who always does what you ask of him. I remember his performance against Argentina during the World Cup, when he kept Lionel Messi out of the game. Axel plays for the others”.
