It is not yet clear if Eden Hazard will be able to play in the Euro 2016 quarter-final match against Wales on Friday. Currently suffering from a thigh sprain, the Red Devils captain still has not trained since his four-star match in the last sixteen against Hungary.
“I hope, I really hope, that Eden will be able to train tomorrow, but I cannot say for certain,” declared Marc Wilmots, after Wednesday’s training session in Bordeaux.
He further said, “Eden is still affected by thigh discomfort. I cannot say for definite how it will pan out. The medical team are working hard with him, so we can only wait.”
A journalist asked, “Might it be possible for Eden be able to play on Friday without training on Thursday?” Wilmots responded, “It is possible. I will discuss it with him, but concerning his condition, there is no problem.”
Wilmots is still being cautious with his number 10.
On the other hand, he already has a definite idea for a substitute for Thomas Vermaelen, who is suspended from play on Friday. “However, I will say nothing more for now,” proffers the national coach.
