The first sales phase of tickets for the UEFA Euro 2020 was closed on Friday because of its great success.

Some 4.5 million requests from 204 countries reached the UEFA. The greatest number coming from England, Germany, Russia, Hungary and the Netherlands.

A random ballot will take place to confirm the names of the lucky ticket-holders who will be notified no later than mid-August. They will then have ten days to pay for their order.

The unfortunate will be placed on a Fans First list and the first notified of the opening of another phase of applications.

The next sales phase will begin in December, when the qualified nations will be known, and the final phase draw completed (30 November in Bucharest). Fans can then buy 'follow your team' tickets, which guarantee seats for all of their country’s games, from the group stage to the grand final in London on 12 July.

In total, no fewer than 3 million tickets will go on sale on the occasion of the 16th edition of this European competition.

The Euro 2020 is scheduled from 12 June to 12 July 2020 in 12 countries, bringing together 24 nations.
