Seven dead including one Belgian in light aircraft crash in Dominican Republic

Kim Plas, a 35-year-old Belgian from Limburg and his 22-year-old Dutch wife died on Monday when the small plane they were travelling n crashed near the resort town of Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. The information was reported by Listin Diario, the local newspaper, by Metro and by the Spanish daily El Mundo, and later confirmed by a spokesman for Foreign Affairs. The couple was holidaying on the Caribbean island. It appears the pilot of the small plane, a Piper Cherokee PA32,  wanted to make an emergency landing on a golf course shortly after take off at 8:15pm on Monday. Seven people died in the accident - the Dominican pilot and six foreign passengers.
