Sousse attack: Jetair extends suspension of flights until end of August

Jetair, Sunjets.be, and VIP Selection tour operators are cancelling all flights to Tunisia until the end of August, announced TUI Belgium (a joint venture of all 3 brands) on Tuesday. “Travellers affected may change their reservations at no extra cost and head for another destination, or else cancel and get their money back,” explains the company. Clients booked to travel in September and October may also change their reservations.

According to TUI Belgium figures, 70% of travellers would rather go elsewhere than cancel their trip.

The day after the June 26th attack near Sousse in Tunisia, Jetair immediately announced it was cancelling all July flights. This decision has now been extended for another month. Thomas Cook travel agents also deleted the destination from their offers until the end of August.

The Belgian Foreign Office recommends avoiding going to Tunisia since the seaside hotel massacre which left 38 dead.
