A record number of just over 218,000 migrants and refugees crossed the Mediterranean on their way to Europe in October, announced UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) on Monday. Updated figures from UNHCR reveal 218,394 Mediterranean crossings in October, a slight increase on figures for 2014.
