Erdogan threatens to open up Turkey’s borders to migrants
Erdogan makes his point to the European Union loud and clear.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today (Friday) threatened, in a cry to the European Union, to open up Turkey’s borders to non-European states. This would allow migrants, wishing to come into Europe, to do so.

This follows a vote by the European Parliament, requesting that negotiations for Turkey's membership of the EU be put “on ice”.

“Listen clearly to me. If you go any further, we will open these borders. Please get that through your heads once and for all.”

Mr Erdogan stated this during a speech in Istanbul. Last march, Ankara and Brussels concluded a pact checking the flow of refugees to the Greek Islands.
