The new film ‘Close’ by Belgian director Lukas Dhont is one of the five nominees for the European University Film Award (EUFA), for which the winner will be announced on 7 December.

The European University Film Award is one of the prizes awarded by the European Film Academy. The prize has been in existence since 2016 and it is European university students who choose the winner.

The nominated films will be screened and discussed in 25 universities across 25 countries and each university will choose its favourite. At the beginning of December, one student per university will participate in a three-day deliberation in Hamburg where they will choose a winner.

The winner will be announced on 7 December, a few days before the European Film Awards Ceremony, which will take place on 10 December.
