The postal company Bpost does not expect any parcel delivery problems during the busy end-of-year period, CEO Dirk Tirez announced on Tuesday evening.

Last year, Bpost experienced a spike in deliveries with recipients either waiting longer than usual for their orders or having to collect them from a collection point, Belga News Agency reports.

"We have learned from this," explained Tirez. "We now have sufficient sorting capacity and are in constant contact with customers to keep an eye on volumes. We also have 650 people from head office who can help out in the field."

In fact, Tirez foresees no problems at all this year. "I actually think we can face the approaching peak with confidence." According to the CEO, there are three times as many parcels this holiday season as compared to the same season two years ago.
