The 11th Wallonia Book Fair will take place in Mons, Belgium on 25 and 26 November from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Over 160 exhibitors, 400 authors, and nearly 20,000 visitors are expected at the event, which is coordinated by the Mon’s Book association and will be held at the Wallonia Conference Centre Mons (WCCM).
The Wallonia Book Fair is devoted to French-language literature in all its forms. Highlights of the 11th edition include a ‘salon cinema’ session set to take place at the ‘Plaza House Cinema’ in Mons city centre. This feature will revolve around the screening of ‘Duelles,’ a film adaptation of the novel ‘Derrière la haine’ by Barbara Abel.
Several literary lectures are also planned over the two-day event, which will welcome a host of guests, including David Foenkinos, Franck Thilliez, Pierre Kroll, Thomas Lavachery, Claire Favan, Victor Dixen, Christelle Dabos, Adeline Dieudonné, Thomas Gunzig, Barbara Abel, and Marie Vareille.
The Mon’s Livre Literary Prize, established in 2016, will be awarded on 26 November at noon at the WCCM.
Entry to the Wallonia Book Fair is free.
