Sixteen people injured after police minibus accident in Brussels

Sixteen people were injured in a Brussels road accident involving a police minibus on Saturday afternoon.

The incident, which took place around 13:30 at the junction of Avenue de la Reine and Square Jules de Trooz, caused minor injuries to fourteen people.

Two individuals were seriously wounded, but their lives are reportedly not in danger.

The police spokesperson, Ilse Van de Keere, has confirmed that a crash occured between a police minibus that was moving towards Laeken on Avenue de la Reine, and a Peugeot driving from Quai des Usines in the direction of the centre.

All fourteen passengers of the minibus and the two people in the Peugeot were transported to the hospital due to their injuries.

Investigations are underway, led by the Brussels Nord police zone (Schaerbeek/Evere/Saint-Josse-ten-Noode) along with the victim support service of the Brussels Capitale/Ixelles police.
