Two centrist parties, Les Engagés and CD&V, will present a united front in the local elections of 13 October in Brussels, the parties announced in a joint statement. This list is also open to civil society representatives.
Heading the list is 54-year-old Didier Wauters, an optician and current council member, with support from resigning Flemish minister Benjamin Dalle.
Two other parliamentarians, Brussels representative Moussa Diallo and prospective federal MP Ismaël Nuino, will also appear on the list.
"We’re not promising the moon," stated Wauters and Dalle, "but we commit to setting up the framework, to aiding individuals in their education, to providing necessary life quality and security, and supplying the tools to construct together the rocket that will get us there!"
