The 'Rodin: A Modern Renaissance' exhibition, which ended on 18 August at the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons, attracted 72,000 visitors in four months.
Most of the people viewing the exhibition were from Belgium, with 34% coming from Flanders, 12% from Brussels, and 40% from Hainaut, highlighting significant local interest. Approximately 12.5% of the visitors were international.
The exhibition signalled the launch of the Culture, Art and Heritage, CAP, concept, embodied by a new museum complex incorporating the Museum of Fine Arts, the Collections House, and the Poirier Beurré Garden. The exhibition’s promoters underscored the positive impact of the event, particularly on tourism and local businesses, including the hospitality sector.
The next CAP event, titled 'Surrealism: Disrupting Reality,' will run from 19 October 2024 to 16 February 2025. Coinciding with the centenary of Surrealism, it will also be housed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons.
