A 49-year-old woman from Sint-Niklaas in East Flanders has been seriously wounded after being stabbed by her 50-year-old ex-partner.
Her assailant is to be brought before the examining magistrate in Dendermonde, the East Flanders public prosecutor's office said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at the woman's home in Sint-Niklaas. The circumstances are not yet known, but the man wounded his ex-partner with a knife. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but her wounds are no longer life-threatening.
The man was apprehended by the police.
The examining magistrate will decide whether to issue an arrest warrant.
