A parcel containing two kilogrammes of cannabis was delivered to the wrong address in Namur earlier this week, the Namur public prosecutor and local police said on Friday.
Two individuals who went to pick it up were arrested and one of them was placed under arrest.
The person who had received the suspicious package on Tuesday contacted the police, who subsequently discovered its contents.
Immediately afterwards, the two individuals went to the door of the house to retrieve the consignment intended for them. When they saw that the police were present, they tried to flee. However, they were stopped by officers from the Special Intervention Group.
The two suspects were questioned by an examining magistrate, who decided to remand one of them in custody.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the trafficking and any links with other cases.
