The government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation has selected 12 ‘Open Environment Action’ initiatives to work with young people on preventing and combating racism and polarisation, while promoting interculturality and citizenship.
A total of €738,800 will be allocated over two years to support these initiatives, which aim to help young people address these themes in their daily lives and social interactions.
The chosen projects will be implemented in several cities and towns, including Brussels, Dour, Ciney, Gembloux andVerviers.
“These supported projects can extend for a maximum of 24 months, depending on the period covered by the project tender,” Minister for Equality Yves Coppieters explained in a statement on Friday.
"Each of these high-quality projects plays a crucial role in strengthening interculturality and fighting discrimination," he stressed.
