The Royal Meteorological Institute, IRM, has issued a yellow alert for slippery roads in East and West Flanders from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
The institute notes in a Wednesday evening update of possible wintry overnight showers in the northwest of the country that could freeze and cause localised ice deposits on the roads.
Additionally, widespread freezing fog is expected overnight in many areas, reducing visibility to less than 200 metres.
A code-yellow warning is in effect for all of Flanders, excluding the coast, as well as Brussels, Walloon Brabant, Liège, and Hainaut, until 10:00 am on Thursday.
